HTML
Add emberbee to any site you can edit the HTML of, including site builders and tag managers.
Add the snippet
Copy your site's snippet from its page in emberbee and paste it into the <head> of every page. If your pages share a header template, paste it there once.
<script defer src="https://emberbee.app/script.js" data-site="st_xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx"></script>Replace st_xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx with your own site id, or copy the snippet from the dashboard, which has it filled in.
Site builders and tag managers
- WordPress, Webflow, Squarespace, and similar. Paste the snippet into the site-wide header code setting.
- Google Tag Manager. Add a Custom HTML tag with the snippet that fires on All Pages.
A tag manager adds the script after the page loads, so Check installation can't see it. Open your site and wait for the first visit instead.
Single-page apps
You don't need extra code for React, Vue, Svelte, or any other app that changes pages without a full reload. The script counts a new pageview each time the path changes, including the back and forward buttons. A change that keeps the same path, such as a new ?tab= value, is not counted again.
Test on your own computer
The script sends nothing from localhost, 127.0.0.1, or a file opened from disk, so development never fills your stats. To try it locally, add data-allow-localhost:
<script defer src="https://emberbee.app/script.js" data-site="st_xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx" data-allow-localhost></script>Remove it again before you ship. Then add custom events for the actions you want to count.
